Ant's Redgum Gallery showcases the works of disabled artist, Anthony 'Ant' Martin. The gallery displays up to 60 Australian hardwood sculptures at any one time, predominantly using redgum, but with many other pieces using the native woods stringybark and sheoak.
Ant's carvings include a variety of different subject matter. Discover reptiles, birds, mammals, heavy machinery and abstract pieces as well as other subjects on over 1000 square metres of floor space. Ant can be seen creating his masterpieces in the adjoining workshops.
You will see a carving of a 10 foot whale from cypress pine and a seven foot carving of Jesus from almond. At the front of the gallery there is an eight foot redgum Bald eagle and a set of three Wedge-tailed eagles eight foot tall. Of course there is a giant ant too! Enquire about tours of these magnificent carvings.
Located in the centre of the Limestone Coast with Penola 50 kilometres to the north, 50 kilometres west of Mount Gambier and less than 80 kilometres from the coastal towns of Robe and Beachport, Ant's Redgum Gallery makes a great day trip destination.
Free entry but donation box available if happy with what you have seen.
